Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 2025-10-07

By submitting your application and paying the initial deposit, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, which govern your participation in the SAFRICAMPS J-1 Summer Work and Travel program.

1. Eligibility and Program Acceptance

  • Eligibility Responsibility: You are solely responsible for ensuring you meet all eligibility requirements (age, student status for Support Staff, criminal record clearance) as outlined on our website.
  • Final Acceptance: Program acceptance is contingent upon successful completion of your interview, a clear criminal background check, and final review by SAFRICAMPS.

2. Program Fees and Payments

  • Fee Structure: Program fees are outlined on the Pricing & Costs page and are payable according to the schedule provided upon program acceptance.
  • Non-Refundable Fees: The initial deposit and most subsequent installment payments are non-refundable once key administrative services (interview, document processing) have been provided, unless we have failed to place you at a camp.
  • Visa/Flight Costs: Program fees do not include the cost of your round-trip airfare or the US Embassy visa fee. These costs are the applicant’s responsibility.

3. Placement and Role Authority

  • Role Flexibility: While SafriCamps strives to place you in your preferred role, the Camp Director reserves the right to assign duties (Counselor, Specialist, Support Staff) based on camp needs. You agree to fulfill the duties assigned to you in your final camp contract.
  • Contract: Your employment is governed by the contract signed between you and the US Summer Camp. SafriCamps is not the direct employer.
